Today, I came back to painting the river kingfisher, a beautiful short-tailed, long-billed, blue-orange bird. The kingfisher was one of the first bird species to paint in watercolors in 2013, when I discovered a pleasure of mixing watercolor paints and loads of water. Here are both paintings, the abstract attempt of painting the kingfisher in 2013, and today’s one (2015).
