“Flamenco Rhythms” is inspired by the various artistic elements of flamenco: the singing, the dancing, the playing of the guitars and castanets, the compass (rhythm clapping by shoes), the hands clapping, all accompanying the energetic and harmonious dance of the two women in red. “Flamenco Rhythms” is a large-scale watercolor, painted on Arches 300 gsm, cold press, format 80 x 110 cm (31.5” x 43”). It is based on a photo from Wikipedia (source: http://bit.ly/14ePQ4q) published under the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. The photographer is Mstyslav Chernov, http://mstyslav-chernov.com/ (July 25, 2011). Changes in the painting “Flamenco Rhythms”, comparing with the original photo, include the addition of the second dancer, and my personal expression of colors.
The painting is available from my Artfinder shop:
