As stated in “Ultra Violet 18-3838. Colour of the Year 2018” published by Pantone Color Institute “… the colour (Ultra Violet) is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world” (for more details: https://www.pantone.com/color-of-the-year-2018).
Ultra Violet could be often seen in my watercolour pallet, creating either a colour escape or a depth of magic complementing both the scenery and the painting subjects.
The portrait below entitled “I’ve got the blues”, fearlessly combines blues and ultra violet to express the beauty of an imaginary girl in a more spectacular manner. A pinch of orange blush on her cheeks brings a portrait to life!
